Stretching for hundreds of kilometers, Gareji desert is the place where the so-called Assyrian Fathers began their spiritual work around 1500 years ago. Above-mentioned fathers opened a new page in the history of the development of Christianity in Georgia. We will explore two important monuments of this era, in which ancient frescoes of the 7th-13th centuries are preserved. Later our path will head towards the modern town of Sighnaghi, famous for its wine cellars and a wonderful views of the Alazani Valley.
